Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Abtah, and I said to myself: Today I will certainly memorise how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prays. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out, then went inside and came out with the leftover water of the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people rushed towards it; some took it and some were sprinkled with it. Then he went inside, brought out a spear and planted it in the ground. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out wearing a red suit of clothes; it is as if I am looking at the whiteness of his shins from behind it. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) called the iqamah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stepped forward, and we formed a row behind him, and he led us in prayer while a donkey, a woman and a dog were passing in front of him.
