Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 18526 — I drew near to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: «دَنَوْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْطَحِ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَخَرَجَ بِلَالٌ فَأَذَّنَ بِالصَّلَاةِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I drew near to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was at al-Abtah, and the sun had passed its zenith; then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and called the adhan for the prayer.
