It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he stood up after the first two rak'ahs (without sitting for the tashahhud). The people alerted him by saying "Subhan Allah", but he did not sit. Then when he had completed his prayer, he performed the two prostrations of forgetfulness after the salam, then said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did it like this."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) (Ibn Abjar narrated it as marfu', that is, as a saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while Mutarrif did not narrate it as marfu') that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Musa (peace be upon him) said: 'O my Lord, tell me about the one of lowest rank among the people of Paradise.' Allah Almighty said: 'Yes, he is a man who will come after (all) the people have settled in their places and taken their shares. It will be said to him: Enter Paradise. He will say: O my Lord, how can I enter when the people have already settled in their places and taken their shares? It will be said to him: Are you not pleased to have the like of what one of the kings of this world had? He will say: I am pleased, O my Lord. It will be said to him: You shall have the like of it, and the like of it, and the like of it (as well).' (Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) gestured by closing all five of his fingers.) 'He will say: I am pleased, O my Lord. It will be said to him: This (all) is yours, and along with it whatever your soul desires and whatever delights your eye. He will say: I am pleased, O my Lord.' Musa (peace be upon him) said: 'O my Lord, tell me also about the one of highest rank among the people of Paradise.' Allah Almighty said: 'Yes, it is about them that you have asked, and I will tell you about them: I planted their honour with My own Hand and set a seal upon it, so that no eye has seen it, no ear has heard of it, and it has never occurred to the heart of any human being.'" And its confirmation in the Book of Allah is: "No soul knows what has been kept hidden for them of the comfort of the eyes as a reward for what they used to do." [Surah al-Sajdah: 17]

Al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: I heard al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) delivering a sermon on the pulpit, saying: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a military expedition. "He (peace and blessings be upon him) went to relieve himself, and I followed him (peace and blessings be upon him) with a vessel of water. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a cloak whose sleeves were narrow, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought both his hands out from underneath it, then washed his face and hands, wiped his head and wiped over his leather socks."

He said: "Dihyah al-Kalbi (may Allah be pleased with him) gave them to him (peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: "I was among those who dug the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said: "We made a lahd (niche) for him (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was lowered into the grave, I dropped the axe, then said: 'The axe, the axe (hand it to me),' and so I went down (into the grave) and placed my hand on the lahd." And Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "I am the closest of people in terms of (the last) time spent with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."

At this Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is enough for you to say 'the Seal of the Prophets', for we used to be told that Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) will come (again); so if he comes, then he was both before him (peace and blessings be upon him) and (will come) after him (peace and blessings be upon him)."
