Abu al-Aliyah from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people who were practising archery, and said: "Shoot, O children of Isma'il, for your father (Isma'il, peace be upon him) was an archer."
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: On the morning of al-Aqabah, while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was on his mount, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come, pick up (pebbles)." So I picked up for him (peace and blessings be upon him) small pebbles (of the khadhf size). When I placed them in his (peace and blessings be upon him) hand, he said: "Yes, (throw) with ones like these," saying it three times, "and beware of extremism (ghuluw) in religion, for those before you were destroyed only by extremism in religion."
A similar hadith is also narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through a third chain.

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray two rak'ahs before Fajr, then he fell asleep until he snored and his breathing could be heard, while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in prostration or sitting. Then he got up and prayed. I said: O Messenger of Allah! You had fallen asleep! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ablution (wudu) is obligatory only upon one who sleeps lying down, for when he lies down his joints relax."

Abu al-Aliyah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: The cousin of your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that is, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), told me: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the night I was taken on the Night Journey (Mi'raj), I saw Musa bin Imran (peace be upon him): a tall man of wheat-brown complexion with curly hair, as though he were one of the men of the tribe of Shanu'ah. And I saw Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him): of medium height, with a complexion inclining to red and white, and straight hair. And I saw Malik, the keeper of Hell. And I saw the Dajjal among the signs that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, showed me."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate at times of distress: "La ilaha illallahul-'Azimul-Halim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbul-'Arshil-Karim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbus-samawati wa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Azim" (There is no god worthy of worship but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing. There is no god worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the Noble Throne. There is no god worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne).

A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Were it not for the weakness of the weak and the sickness of the sick, I would have delayed the Isha prayer."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not fitting for any servant to say: I am better than Yunus bin Matta."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst food is the food of a wedding feast (walimah) to which the well-fed are invited and from which the hungry are kept away."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to teach us the bowing (ruku') just as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach his Companions. Then he would remain still in ruku' before us in such a way that if a drop of water were dripped between his shoulders, it would roll neither forward nor backward.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the valley of Ibn al-Azraq and said: "What valley is this?" They said: The valley of Ibn al-Azraq. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is as if I am looking at Musa (peace be upon him) descending (into this valley), calling out the talbiyah aloud to his Lord." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to a mountain pass and said: "What pass is this?" It was said: Such-and-such pass. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is as if I am looking at Yunus bin Matta (peace be upon him) riding a red she-camel with curly hair, whose halter is of palm fibre, wearing a woollen cloak and calling out the talbiyah."
Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hammad bin Salamah gave (the valley's name) as 'Ibn al-Azraq', whereas the correct name is only 'al-Azraq'.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man cursed the wind, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not curse it, for it is under (Allah's) command, and whoever curses something that does not deserve it, that curse comes back upon himself."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel" [Surah al-Isra: 2]: "Musa (peace be upon him) was made a guidance for the Children of Israel." And concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "So do not be in any doubt about meeting him" [Surah al-Sajdah: 23], he said: "That is, about Musa's (peace be upon him) meeting with his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic."
