It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no man who is in charge of the affairs of ten or more people except that he will be brought on the Day of Resurrection with his hand chained to his neck; his righteousness will set him free, or his sin will bind him further. Its beginning is blame, its middle is regret, and its end is disgrace on the Day of Resurrection."

It was asked: What are Ghayy and Atham? He said: "They are two wells at the very bottom of Hell from which the pus of the people of the Fire flows, and these are the two that Allah has mentioned in His Book: 'Those who neglected the prayer and followed their desires, they will soon meet Ghayy' [Surah Maryam: 59], 'And whoever does that will meet Atham' [Surah al-Furqan: 68]."
