حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَيْهَمَ، عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ: قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَلِي أَمْرَ عَشْرَةٍ، فَمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا أُتِيَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَدُهُ مَغْلُولَةٌ إِلَى عُنُقِهِ، فَكَّهُ بِرُّهُ، أَوْ أَوْثَقَهُ إِثْمُهُ، أَوَّلُهَا مَلَامَةٌ، وَأَوْسَطُهَا نَدَامَةٌ، وَآخِرُهَا خِزْيٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no man who is in charge of the affairs of ten or more people except that he will be brought on the Day of Resurrection with his hand chained to his neck; his righteousness will set him free, or his sin will bind him further. Its beginning is blame, its middle is regret, and its end is disgrace on the Day of Resurrection."
