حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّقَطِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ فِي مَوْعِظَتِهِ: «أَلَا لَعَلَّكُمْ لَا تَرَوْنِي بَعْدَ عَامِكُمْ هَذَا» - ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ - فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ طَوِيلٌ أَشْعَثُ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ، فَقَالَ: فَمَا الَّذِي نَفْعَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ: «اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمْ، وَصَلُّوا خَمْسَكُمْ، وَصُومُوا شَهْرَكُمْ، وَأَدُّوا زَكَاةَ أَمْوَالِكُمْ طَيِّبَةٌ بِهَا أَنْفُسُكُمْ تَدْخُلُوا جَنَّةَ رَبِّكُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people and said in his exhortation: "Listen! Perhaps you will not see me after this year of yours," saying it three times. Then a tall man with dishevelled hair stood up, as though he were one of the men of (the tribe of) Shanu'ah, and said: Then what should we do, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "Worship your Lord, pray your five (prayers), fast your month, and pay the zakah of your wealth willingly; you will enter the Paradise of your Lord."
