It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khalid bin Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to Yemen and said: "Whichever tribe of the Arabs you pass by and hear the call to prayer (adhan) among them, do not trouble them; and those among whom you do not hear the adhan, invite them to Islam, and if they do not accept, then fight them (in jihad)."

Sayyiduna Khalid bin Sa'id bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on returning from the emigration to Abyssinia, and with him was his daughter Umm Khalid. He brought her to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while she was wearing a yellow shirt that she liked very much, and she understood some of the Abyssinian language. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to her in the Abyssinian language and said: "Sanah, sanah" — which in the Abyssinian language means 'good' — then he said: "Wear it out and make it old, then wear (another) out and make it old." The narrator said: By Allah, she wore it out and then made it old, then wore it out and then made it old. Then she leaned towards the back of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and placed her hand on the place of the Seal of Prophethood, and her father pulled her back, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave her."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khalid bin Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a ring on his hand, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Khalid, what is this ring?" He said: It is a ring I have had made. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Throw it to me." He said: So I threw it to him, and it was a ring of coloured iron overlaid with silver. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is engraved on it?" I said: 'Muhammad Rasulullah' (Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the ring and wore it, and this was the ring that remained on his hand (thereafter).
