حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ: أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «بَعَثَ أُمَرَاءَ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَأَمَّرَ خَالِدَ بْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَلَى جُنْدٍ»
Al-Zuhri relates: After the death of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sent several commanders (umara') to Syria, and appointed Khalid bin Sa'id as commander over one army.
