It is reported from Sayyidah Razinah (may Allah be pleased with her), the freed slave woman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) captive on the day of the conquest of Banu Qurayzah and Banu al-Nadir, when Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, granted him (peace and blessings be upon him) victory. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was bringing her along (with him) as a captive; then, when she saw the other women, she said: 'Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wa annaka Rasulullah' (I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah). So he (peace and blessings be upon him) let her go; at that time her arm was in the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) freed her, proposed to her and married her, and gave her Sayyidah Razinah (may Allah be pleased with her) as her dowry.
I (Ibn Hajar) say: This hadith is munkar (denounced), because it is narrated through a chain of majhul (unknown) women, whereas the authentic report is the one narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made her emancipation itself her dowry; and the same was narrated earlier from Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) herself in the Book of Marriage.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "I came into the noble presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time there was no one among all people more disliked by me than his (peace and blessings be upon him) noble person. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (explaining the reality of the matter): 'Indeed your people did such and such.'" Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I had not yet risen from that seat of mine before his (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed person had become the most beloved and dearest of all people to me."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it in his Musnad (4121), and its chain is sahih (authentic).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) seated me behind him on the hindquarters of his she-camel. She said: Drowsiness began to overcome me (and I started to doze), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would touch me with his blessed hand (so that I would wake up) and say: "O lady! O daughter of Huyayy!" And he (peace and blessings be upon him) kept saying: "O Safiyyah, I apologise to you for the measures I took against your people, for they had said such and such (harsh and hostile) things about me; indeed they said such and such against me."
Another chain of this hadith is narrated from Ibn Numayr, in which it is narrated from a narrator named Rabi' (a man of Banu al-Nadir who lived in the settlement of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)) that Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I never saw anyone of finer character than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then the narrator mentioned an incident similar in meaning to the report above.
