قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - ، قَالَ : مَا أَمِنَ اللهُ تَعَالَى أَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِهِ إِلَّا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : لِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ، وَقَالَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ : وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Allah Almighty has not made anyone among all His creation completely safe and secure (from being taken to account) except Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah, Glorified and Exalted, said concerning him (peace and blessings be upon him): 'So that Allah may forgive you your sins, past and future' [Surah al-Fath: 2], whereas about the angels (peace be upon them) He said (as a warning): 'And whoever of them says, "I am a god besides Him," We shall recompense him with Hell' [Surah al-Anbiya': 29]."

وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهُ شَيْطَانٌ ، قَالُوا : وَمَعَكَ ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَمَعِي ، إِلَّا أَنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهِ فَأَسْلَمَ ، وَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُدْخِلُهُ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ ، قَالُوا : وَلَا أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَتِهِ .
3850 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ - هُوَ ابْنُ وَكِيعٍ - ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، ثَنَا جَدِّي هُوَ الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَلِيحٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَأَسْلَمَ .
وَهَكَذَا أَخْرَجَهُ الْبَزَّارُ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ .
وَقَالَ : مَا رَوَى شَرِيكٌ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ وَآخَرَ ، يَعْنِي الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ مُسَدَّدٌ .
* هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ .
3850 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ - هُوَ ابْنُ وَكِيعٍ - ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، ثَنَا جَدِّي هُوَ الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَلِيحٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَأَسْلَمَ .
وَهَكَذَا أَخْرَجَهُ الْبَزَّارُ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ .
وَقَالَ : مَا رَوَى شَرِيكٌ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ وَآخَرَ ، يَعْنِي الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ مُسَدَّدٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sharik bin Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is not a single one of you except that a devil (a companion jinn) has been attached to him." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: O Messenger of Allah! Even with you (peace and blessings be upon him)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, with me too, except that Allah Almighty helped me against him, so 'fa-aslama' (he became obedient to me, or became a Muslim). And there is not one of you whose deeds alone can admit him into Paradise." The Companions said: And not even you? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even me, unless Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, covers me with His mercy."
Imam Abu Ya'la also recorded it in the same way with his own chain, where it goes as far as 'fa-aslama' (he became obedient to me). Likewise Imam al-Bazzar narrated it from Bishr bin Mu'adh, from Abu Awanah, and said that Sayyiduna Sharik bin Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated nothing except this hadith and one other narration, meaning the very hadith that Imam Musaddad mentioned. This hadith is sahih (authentic).

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، ثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ شَغَافٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ : إِنَّ أَكْرَمَ خَلْقِ اللهِ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ فِي السَّمَاءِ ، وَإِنَّ النَّارَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ بَعَثَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْخَلَائِقَ أُمَّةً أُمَّةً ، وَنَبِيًّا نَبِيًّا ، حَتَّى يَكُونَ أَحْمَدُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُمَّتُهُ آخِرَ الْأُمَمِ مَرْكَزًا ، ثُمَّ يُوضَعُ جِسْرُ جَهَنَّمَ ، ثُمَّ يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ : أَيْنَ أَحْمَدُ وَأُمَّتُهُ ؟ فَيَقُومُ ، وَتَتْبَعُهُ أُمَّتُهُ بَرُّهَا وَفَاجِرُهَا .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Indeed, the most honoured and noble of all Allah Almighty's creation in His sight is Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him). Paradise is in the heavens, while Hell is in the earth (in its depths). Then, when the Day of Resurrection comes, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will raise all creatures group by group, and every prophet with his followers, until Sayyiduna Ahmad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah will be, in terms of their station and place, the last of all the nations. Then the bridge (al-Sirat) will be laid over Hell, after which a caller will call out: 'Where are Ahmad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah?' So he (peace and blessings be upon him) will stand, and his Ummah will follow him, the righteous and the sinful among them alike."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am the foremost and the first among all the Arabs (in accepting the true religion, in perfection of faith and in every kind of good)."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، ثَنَا عَامِرُ بْنُ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، أَنْتَ سَيِّدُ الْعَرَبِ ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ وَلَا فَخْرَ ، آدَمُ تَحْتَ لِوَائِي وَلَا فَخْرَ .

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "O Messenger of Allah, are you the leader of the Arabs?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am the leader of the children of Adam, and (saying this) is no boast; rather, Adam (peace be upon him, on the Day of Resurrection) will be beneath my banner, and this too is not said by way of boasting."

وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْلَى هُوَ مُنْذِرٌ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : لَا يَفْضُلُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَدٌ ، وَلَا عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ خَلِيلِ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَحَدٌ .

It is narrated from Rabi' bin Khuthaym (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "No one has any superiority or precedence over the noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), nor does anyone have any kind of superiority over Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the Khalil (intimate friend) of my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic."
Imam al-Harith also narrated something similar with his chain from Abd al-Aziz bin Aban, from Sufyan al-Thawri.
