حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبَانَ ، ثَنَا شَيْخٌ ، مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَا سَابِقُ الْعَرَبِ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am the foremost and the first among all the Arabs (in accepting the true religion, in perfection of faith and in every kind of good)."
