It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that it was the blessed practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that when a strong gale or wind blew, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would turn to face it and kneel down on his knees, then supplicate with this du'a: 'Allahumma ij'alha riyahan wa la taj'alha rihan, Allahumma ij'alha rahmatan wa la taj'alha 'adhaban' (O Allah, make it (this wind) abundant beneficial winds and do not make it a single (destructive) wind; O Allah, make it a means of mercy and do not make it a cause of punishment).
Imam Abu Ya'la also narrated something similar from Wahb, from Khalid.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate with this du'a: 'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri ma taji'u bihi al-rih, wa sharri ma taji'u bihi al-rusul' (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what the wind brings, and from the evil of what the angels (sent with Your punishment) bring).
The chain of this narration contains a narrator named Rishdin bin Kurayb, who is weak; therefore its chain is subject to criticism from a scholarly and technical standpoint, though other authentic hadith are narrated about seeking refuge from the evil of storms and wind.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The wind is part of the relief granted by Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and of the breeze (cool air) of His mercy. So when you see it (blowing), ask Allah Almighty for its good and seek refuge in Allah from its evil."
Imam Abd bin Humayd narrated this hadith in his Musnad (no. 3380). Muhammad bin al-Qasim al-Asadi in its chain is a weak and matruk (abandoned) narrator, but this hadith is established in its meaning and sense on the basis of other supporting reports in which the wind is described as 'nafas al-Rahman', that is, relief and mercy reaching (people) from Allah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was the blessed practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that whenever a strong, violent wind blew, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate: 'Allahumma laqhan la 'aqiman' (O Allah, make (this wind for us) beneficial and rain-bearing, and do not make it barren (that is, dry and destructive)).
Imam Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili narrated this hadith, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), on account of which its chain is strong and its text reliable.
