قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، ثَنَا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُسَاوِرٍ الْعِجْلِيِّ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : لَمْ يُرِدْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَفَرًا قَطُّ إِلَّا قَالَ حِينَ يَنْهَضُ مِنْ جُلُوسِهِ : " اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ انْتَشَرْتُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ تَوَجَّهْتُ ، وَبِكَ اعْتَصَمْتُ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ ثِقَتِي ، وَأَنْتَ رَجَائِي ، اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي مَا أَهَمَّنِي وَمَا لَا أَهْتَمُّ بِهِ وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي ، وَزَوِّدْنِي التَّقْوَى ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي ، وَوَجِّهْنِي لِلْخَيْرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهْتُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended a journey, he would invariably say these words when rising from his seat: "'Allahumma bika intashartu, wa ilayka tawajjahtu, wa bika i'tasamtu, Allahumma anta thiqati, wa anta raja'i, Allahumma ikfini ma ahammani wa ma la ahtammu bihi wa ma anta a'lamu bihi minni, wa zawwidni al-taqwa, waghfir li, wa wajjihni li al-khayri haythuma tawajjahtu' (O Allah, it is by Your enabling grace and help that I set out (on the journey); to You I have turned, and in You I have sought protection. O Allah, You are my trust (the One I rely on) and You are my hope. O Allah, suffice me in all the matters that have made me anxious, and in those I do not care about (out of my heedlessness), and in those matters which You know better than I. Provide me with taqwa as my provision for the journey, forgive me, and guide me towards good wherever I turn)."

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ أَنَا ( يَحْيَى ) بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ ( سُهَيْلٍ ) عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَرَادَ أَحَدُكُمْ سَفَرًا فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى إِخْوَانِهِ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ ( يَزِيدُونَهُ ) بِدُعَائِهِمْ إِلَى دُعَائِهِ خَيْرًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you intends to set out on a journey, let him greet his (Muslim) brothers with salam (and take leave of them), for through their supplications they add further good to his own supplication."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، ثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، ثَنَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ النُّمَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا عَلَا نَشَزًا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الشَّرَفُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَرَفٍ ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went up onto any high place of the land, a mound or a raised spot, he would recite this du'a: 'Allahumma laka al-sharafu 'ala kulli sharaf, wa laka al-hamdu 'ala kulli hal' (O Allah, to You alone belongs supremacy and eminence over every high rank, and in every condition and state all thanks and praise are exclusively Yours).
