It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went up onto any high place of the land, a mound or a raised spot, he would recite this du'a: 'Allahumma laka al-sharafu 'ala kulli sharaf, wa laka al-hamdu 'ala kulli hal' (O Allah, to You alone belongs supremacy and eminence over every high rank, and in every condition and state all thanks and praise are exclusively Yours).
The chain of this hadith contains the narrator named Ziyad al-Numayri, whom the majority of hadith scholars declared da'if (weak); however, this narration is transmitted with these words in Musnad Ahmad and other books of hadith.
