It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us. Then the narrator mentioned a long hadith in which there is also this saying: "Whoever earns unlawful wealth, Allah Almighty accepts from him neither charity, nor the freeing of a slave, nor Hajj, nor Umrah; Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, records sins against him in proportion to it, and whatever of that wealth remains at the time of his death will be his provision for the journey to Hell. And whoever buys property obtained by betrayal, knowing that it is property obtained by betrayal, is like the betrayer himself in its disgrace and sin; and whoever buys stolen property, knowing that it is stolen property, is like the thief himself in its shame and sin." Note: This narration is mawdu' (fabricated) with this chain, but its last part has also been narrated through another chain.
