أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، ثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ كَسَبَ مَالًا مِنْ حَلَالٍ ، فَأَطْعَمَ نَفْسَهُ ، أَوْ كَسَاهَا مَنْ دُونَهُ مِنْ خَلْقِ اللهِ تَعَالَى ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ بِهَا زَكَاةً .

Imam Abu Ya'la narrated with his chain from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any man who earns wealth in a lawful way, then uses it to feed himself, or clothes someone other than himself from among the creation of Allah Almighty, then indeed this deed is zakah for him (that is, a source of reward and purification)." Amr bin al-Harith corroborated this narration (mutaba'ah), narrating it from Darraj, and Imam Ibn Hibban recorded it through his chain.
