وَقَالَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : لَا يُعْجِبَنَّكَ رَحْبُ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ يَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللهِ تَعَالَى قَاتِلًا لَا يَمُوتُ ، وَلَا يُعْجِبَنَّكَ امْرُؤٌ كَسَبَ مَالًا مِنْ حَرَامٍ ، فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ أَنْفَقَهُ أَوْ تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ لَمْ يُقْبَلْ مِنْهُ ، وَإِنْ تَرَكَهُ لَمْ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ ، وَإِنْ بَقِيَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ كَانَ زَادَهُ إِلَى النَّارِ .
Imam al-Tayalisi narrated with his chain from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let not a man of broad arms (that is, strong and fearless) who sheds blood unjustly ever impress you, for with Allah Almighty there is for him a slayer (a punishment) that will never die. And let not a man who has earned wealth unlawfully ever please you, for if he spends it or gives it in charity, it will never be accepted from him; if he leaves it behind (as inheritance), it will not be blessed for him; and if anything of it remains, it will be his provision for the journey to Hell."
