It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is nothing that brings you near to Paradise and far from Hell except that I have commanded you to do it, and there is nothing that takes you far from Paradise and near to Hell except that I have forbidden you from it. Indeed the Trustworthy Spirit (Jibril (peace be upon him)) has inspired into my heart that no soul will taste death until it completes its provision written by Allah Almighty. So be mindful of Allah and adopt a fine and pure way in seeking provision. Let the delay of provision never drive you to seek it through disobedience to Allah, for what (good and blessing) is with Allah Almighty can be attained only through obedience to Him."
