The rebuke for staying away from Friday prayer

Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his paternal uncle (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever abandons the Friday prayer three times (merely out of laziness, without any legitimate excuse), a seal will be placed on his heart, and his heart will be made like the heart of a hypocrite (in deprivation and wretchedness)."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), and Imams Ahmad, Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah also recorded it in their books.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Whoever abandons three Friday prayers in succession (without any legitimate excuse) has indeed thrown Islam behind his back (that is, he has turned away from it completely)."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this report in his Musnad and its chain is sahih (authentic); it is a saying of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) (mawquf).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver the sermon on Friday and said: "It often happens that the time of the Friday prayer comes upon a man while he is only a mile away from Madinah, and he does not attend it." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said the second time: "He is two miles away from Madinah, and he does not attend it." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said the third time: "He is three miles away from Madinah, and he does not attend the Friday prayer, so Allah Almighty places a seal on his heart."
