It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man entered the mosque while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the Friday sermon, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said (about his lateness): "One of you remains absorbed in heedlessness and carelessness, until, when the Friday prayer is about to be missed, he comes stepping over people's necks and harming them." That man said: O Prophet of Allah! I did not do so (deliberately); rather, I had fallen asleep, then when I woke up I got up, performed ablution (wudu) and have now come. At that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (in surprise and as a warning): "Is today a day merely for ablution?!!"
Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except Umar, for there is criticism regarding his reliability.
