Abu Qatadah and Abu al-Dahma' narrate: We came to a man from the desert and asked: "Have you heard anything from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "Yes! I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'If you give up anything for the sake of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will give you in its place what is better for you than it.'"

In one narration the words are: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my hand and began teaching me from the knowledge that Allah Almighty had granted him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whatever you give up out of fear of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will grant you something better than it.'" Ahmad recorded all of these narrations with various chains, and their narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has power over some object of worldly desire and hands it over, although had he wished he would not have handed it over, Allah Almighty will marry him to whichever of the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise (al-hur al-'in) he wishes."
Al-Tabarani recorded it.
