Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When you pass by a land whose inhabitants were destroyed, pass through it quickly."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), though there is disagreement about some of them.

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by al-Hijr, the town of the people of Thamud, he forbade us from drinking from the well outside that town or watering our animals from it, and he also forbade us from entering their dwellings. (The following words are perhaps the narrator's:) He informed us that the young of the she-camel had climbed a small hill, which I heard the people calling "Kababah", and that the footprints of the she-camel's young were on the front side of that hill.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain contains narrators whom I do not know.

Sayyiduna Abu Kabshah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk, the people hurried towards the settlement called "al-Hijr" in order to enter it. It was announced among the people that everyone should gather. The narrator states: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was holding his camel and saying: "Where are you about to enter? Upon a people with whom Allah Almighty became angry?" The narrator says: Then a man called out to him loudly: "O Messenger of Allah! This is something astonishing on their part." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of something more astonishing than that? Your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tells you about what has passed before you, and he also tells you about what will come after you. So remain upright and stay on the right course, for Allah Almighty will not care at all about punishing you."
Al-Tabarani and Ahmad recorded it with various chains, one of which is hasan (good).
