Abu al-Ala' bin al-Shikhkhir relates: A man from Banu Sulaym narrated
this to me, and I think that he had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty tests His servant through what He gives him. If the servant is pleased with what Allah Almighty has allotted to him, Allah Almighty places blessing for him in it and grants him abundance; and if he is not pleased, no blessing is placed for him."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Shikhkhir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty tests the servant in order to make evident how the servant acts. If the servant is pleased, blessing is placed for him; and if the servant is not pleased, no blessing is placed for him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Sa'id bin Rashid al-Mazini, who is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "How excellent are the disliked things: death and poverty! By Allah, between wealth and poverty, I do not care with which of the two I am tested, because in each of the two situations the right of Allah Almighty is obligatory: if it is wealth, then kindness is required in it, and if it is poverty, then patience is required in it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains al-Mas'udi, whose memory became confused (ikhtilat).

this too is narrated; he says: "No harm comes to a Muslim, whatever state he wakes up or goes to sleep in, so long as there is no (anger or) bitterness in his heart." Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains al-Mas'udi, whose memory became confused (ikhtilat).
