Sayyiduna Mahmud bin Labid (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There are two things which a person dislikes: death, although death is better than fitnah (trial); and he dislikes having little wealth, although when wealth is little, the reckoning to be given will also be less."
Ahmad recorded it with two chains, and the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih.

Abu Asma' relates that he visited Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him), who was at al-Rabadhah. With him was a black woman, unkempt in appearance, wearing no saffron or perfume. Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do you not see what this black woman tells me? She tells me to go to Iraq; if I go to Iraq, the people there will shower their worldly goods upon me. And my close friend (peace and blessings be upon him) told me that before the bridge over Hell there is a path that is slippery and treacherous, and if our loads are light when we come upon that path, that (being lightly laden) will be more likely to secure our deliverance than reaching it heavily laden.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. (Al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith narrated by Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) will come later, in the final chapters.
