Abu Hasabah Muslim bin Akyas, the freed slave of Abdullah bin Amir, reports this about Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him): A man related that he once came to Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) and found him weeping. He asked: O Abu Ubaydah, why are you weeping? Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: We are weeping because one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned how Allah Almighty would grant the Muslims conquests and give them fay' (spoils), until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned Syria and said: "O Abu Ubaydah, if your life is prolonged, three servants will be enough for you: a servant to serve you, a servant to travel with you, and a servant to serve your family and look after them. And three animals will be enough for you: an animal for your riding, an animal for your baggage, and an animal for your slave." (Then Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:) And now I look at my house and it is full of slaves, and I look at my stable and it is full of animals and horses. So how will I meet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after this, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had instructed us: "The most beloved of you to me and the closest of you to me will be the one who remains in the same state in which he parted from me."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator who is not named, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Yahya bin Ja'dah relates: Some of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) in his illness. They said: Glad tidings to you, O Abu Abdullah! You will come to Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) at the Pond (al-Kawthar). Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: How can that be, with this present? He said this while pointing to the upper and lower parts of the house, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has said: "For any one of you, as much of this world suffices as a rider's (that is, a traveller's) provisions for the journey."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Yahya bin Ja'dah, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
