Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan says: 'The owner of wealth does not remain safe from me with regard to one of three things, which I bring to him morning and evening: he acquires wealth unlawfully, he spends it wrongfully, and I make wealth beloved to him, so he does not pay its due.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan sends his strongest and most powerful companion to the person who does good deeds with his wealth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abd al-Hakim bin Mansur, who is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Your enemy is not the one whom, if you kill him, it becomes a light for you, or if he kills you, you enter Paradise. Rather, your greatest enemy is your child who has come forth from your loins, and your greatest enemy is your wealth, which you own."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Ayyash, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These dinars and dirhams destroyed the people before you, and my view of them is that they will destroy you as well."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), of a similar kind, has already passed in the Book of Zakah.

Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among his Companions and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you fear poverty (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the word is: 'do you fear neediness'), or are you worried about the world? Allah Almighty will grant you victory over Persia and Rome, and the world will be poured upon you, until, if you go astray after that, it is the world that will lead you astray."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar; its narrators have been declared trustworthy, except that the narrator Baqiyyah is a mudallis, even though he is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I fear the trial of prosperity for you more than the trial of hardship. You were tested with the trial of hardship and you were patient, and the world is green and sweet."
Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a man who is not named, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
