Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked in the mirror, he would recite:
'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi sawwa khalqi, wa ahsana surati, wa zana minni ma shana min ghayri'
(All praise belongs to Allah, who has perfected my creation, made my form beautiful, and adorned me in that in which others have defects (He has kept me safe from them).)
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Dawud bin al-Muhabbar, who is extremely da'if (weak), though more than one scholar declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked in the mirror, he would recite:
'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi hassana khuluqi wa khalqi, wa zana minni ma shana min ghayri'
(All praise belongs to Allah, who has made my outward form and my character good, and adorned me in that in which others have defects (He has kept me safe from them).)
The narrator says: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) applied kohl, he would first apply it twice in each eye, and then once more in both eyes. When he put on clothing, he would begin with the right side, and when he took it off, he would take off the left side first. When he entered the mosque, he would put his right foot in first. Whenever he took or gave anything, he liked to take and give with the right.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin al-Husayn al-Uqayli, who is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at his face in the mirror, he would recite:
'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi sawwa khalqi fa-'adalah, wa sawwara surata khalqi fa-ahsanaha, wa ja'alani minal-muslimin' (All praise belongs to Allah, who fashioned my creation and made it well-proportioned, who shaped the form of my creation and made it beautiful, and who made me one of the Muslims.)
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Hashim bin Isa al-Bazzi, whom I do not know, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
