عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا طَنَّتْ أُذُنُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَذْكُرْنِي ، وَلْيُصَلِّ عَلَيَّ ، وَلْيَقُلْ : ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ بِخَيْرٍ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي بِهِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ كَثِيرٍ ، وَإِسْنَادُ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the ears of any one of you ring, let him remember me and send blessings (durud) upon me, and he should say: May Allah remember with goodness the one who has remembered me with it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in his three books, and al-Bazzar recorded it in a greatly abridged form; al-Tabarani's chain in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir is hasan (good).
