Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the sun, and it held back for a part of the day.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good).
Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the Zuhr prayer at al-Sahba', then he sent Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on some errand. When he returned, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had already offered the Asr prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laid his head in the lap of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and fell asleep. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did not move until the sun set. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Your servant Ali kept himself held back for the sake of Your Prophet, so return the sun for him." Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The sun rose again until it stood over the mountains and the land. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) got up, performed ablution and offered the prayer, and after that the sun set at al-Sahba'.
In a narration transmitted from her, it is: She narrates: When revelation descended upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), his state would become as though he was about to faint. One day revelation was descending upon him while he was (resting his head) in the lap of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Have you offered Asr?" He said: "No, O Messenger of Allah!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated to Allah Almighty: "O Allah! Return the sun for Ali so that he may offer Asr." Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I saw the sun rise again after it had set, until Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) offered the Asr prayer. Al-Tabarani recorded all of these narrations with various chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih. He recorded it from Ibrahim bin Hasan, and he is thiqah (trustworthy); Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah. And I do not know the woman named Fatimah bint Ali bin Abi Talib.
