Disciplining children and the household, and hanging the whip where they can see it

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A father leaves his child no inheritance better than good upbringing."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Amr bin Dinar, the steward of the family of al-Zubayr, and he is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hang up the whip where the members of the household can see it, for that is a better means of disciplining them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with similar wording, and al-Bazzar also recorded it, with the words: "where the servant can see it." Both of al-Tabarani's chains are hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not raise the stick against your family, and keep making them fear Allah Almighty."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains al-Hasan bin Salih bin Hayy, whom Ahmad and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while al-Nawawi and others declared him da'if (weak); on this basis its chain is good (jayyid).
