بَابُ تَأْدِيبِ الْأَوْلَادِ وَأَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ وَتَعْلِيقِ السَّوْطِ حَيْثُ يَرَوْنَهُ
Disciplining children and the household, and hanging the whip where they can see it

اُردوEn
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " عَلِّقُوا السَّوْطَ حَيْثُ يَرَاهُ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ ، فَإِنَّهُ آدَبُ لَهُمْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ بِنَحْوِهِ وَالْبَزَّارُ وَقَالَ : " حَيْثُ يَرَاهُ الْخَادِمُ " . وَإِسْنَادُ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ فِيهِمَا حَسَنٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hang up the whip where the members of the household can see it, for that is a better means of disciplining them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with similar wording, and al-Bazzar also recorded it, with the words: "where the servant can see it." Both of al-Tabarani's chains are hasan (good).
