عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" كَادَ الْحَسَدُ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ الْقَدَرَ ، وَكَادَتِ الْحَاجَةُ أَنْ تَكُونَ كُفْرًا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْكِلَابِيُّ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Envy is on the verge of outstripping (what is written in) destiny, and poverty brings (a person) close to disbelief."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Uthman al-Kilabi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), and he is matruk (abandoned).

وَعَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" لَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ بِخَيْرٍ مَا لَمْ يَتَحَاسَدُوا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Damrah bin Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will continue upon goodness as long as they do not envy one another."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

وَعَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" ثَلَاثٌ لَازِمَاتُ أُمَّتِي : الطِّيَرَةُ ، وَالْحَسَدُ ، وَسُوءُ الظَّنِّ " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : مَا يُذْهِبُهُنَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِمَّنْ هُنَّ فِيهِ ؟ قَالَ : " إِذَا حَسَدْتَ فَاسْتَغْفِرِ اللَّهَ ، وَإِذَا ظَنَنْتَ فَلَا تَتَحَقَّقُ ، وَإِذَا تَطَيَّرْتَ فَامْضِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Harithah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three things will afflict my Ummah: taking evil omens, envy and suspicion. A man asked: 'What can remove them, O Messenger of Allah, from the people in whom they are found?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'When you envy, seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty; when you suspect, do not investigate it; and when you take an omen, carry on with it (even if the omen is bad).'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Isma'il bin Qays al-Ansari, and he is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ : اشْتَرَيْنَا مِنَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ بَيْتًا ، فَجَلَسَ عَلَى الْبَابِ ، فَكَثُرَ الْغُبَارُ ، فَقُلْنَا : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّا لَا نَأْخُذُ إِلَّا حَقًّا وَلَا نَخُونُكَ . قَالَ : " إِنِّي أَخَافُ الظَّنَّ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Abu Hazim narrates: We bought a house from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). He sat at the door, and the dust became heavy, so we said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman, we will take only what is rightfully ours and we will not betray you." He said: "I fear suspicion."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
