Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13044

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Envy is on the verge of outstripping (what is written in) destiny, and poverty brings (a person) close to disbelief."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Uthman al-Kilabi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), and he is matruk (abandoned).
