Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not revile time, for Allah Almighty is time."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not revile time! Allah Almighty says: 'I am time; the nights and days belong to Me. I renew them and I wear them out, and I bring kings after kings.'"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This report is in the Sahih in abridged form, and in this report the wording is: "Indeed Allah Almighty says: 'I am time.'"

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Ibrahim bin Hisham al-Ghassani, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Abu Hatim and others called him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
