وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" لَا تَسُبُّوا الدَّهْرَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ : أَنَا الدَّهْرُ ، الْأَيَّامُ وَاللَّيَالِي لِي ، أُجَدِّدُهَا وَأُبْلِيهَا ، وَآتِي بِمُلُوكٍ بَعْدَ مُلُوكٍ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ وَفِي هَذَا : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ : أَنَا الدَّهْرُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not revile time! Allah Almighty says: 'I am time; the nights and days belong to Me. I renew them and I wear them out, and I bring kings after kings.'"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This report is in the Sahih in abridged form, and in this report the wording is: "Indeed Allah Almighty says: 'I am time.'"
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
