Sayyiduna Sinan bin Wabrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of al-Muraysi', that is, the Battle of Banu al-Mustaliq, we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and their battle cry was: "O Mansur! Give death, give death!" (or: Kill!)
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and the chain of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir is hasan (good).
Muhammad bin Ishaq narrates: Asim bin Umar bin Qatadah, Abdullah bin Abi Bakr and Muhammad bin Yahya bin Hibban each narrated to me part of the account of Banu al-Mustaliq. They narrate: News reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that their leader al-Harith bin Abi Dirar was gathering Banu al-Mustaliq against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); this man was the father of Sayyidah Juwayriyah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received news of this, he went out towards those people until he reached them at their watering place called "al-Muraysi'", which is a place on one side of "Qudayd" towards the coast. The people of both sides advanced against each other and the fighting began, and Allah Almighty routed Banu al-Mustaliq. Al-Harith bin Abi Dirar, the father of Sayyidah Juwayriyah (may Allah be pleased with her), was killed, several of them were killed, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) included their children and women in the spoils of war. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) obtained many captives from them, whom he distributed among the Muslims. Among the women who were taken captive on that occasion was Sayyidah Juwayriyah bint Abi Dirar (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the chief lady of her people.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
Muhammad bin Ishaq narrates: The Battle of Banu al-Mustaliq took place in the month of Sha'ban in the year 6 AH. In this battle the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) with him; he had cast lots among his wives, and the lot of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) came out. This is the battle during which the people of the false accusation made their accusation, and Allah Almighty sent down a command declaring the innocence of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
Shabbab al-Usfuri narrates: The Battle of Banu al-Mustaliq took place in the sixth year of the Hijrah. During this battle the people of the false accusation made their accusation, and concerning it this command of the Qur'an was revealed: "Indeed, those who brought forth the false accusation are a group among you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Musa bin Zakariyya al-Tustari, who is matruk (abandoned).
