وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ : كَانَتْ غَزْوَةُ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ فِي شَعْبَانَ سَنَةِ سِتٍّ ، وَخَرَجَ فِي تِلْكَ الْغَزْوَةِ بِعَائِشَةَ مَعَهُ ، أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَ نِسَائِهِ فَخَرَجَ سَهْمُهَا ، وَفِي تِلْكَ الْغَزْوَةِ قَالَ فِيهَا أَهْلُ الْإِفْكِ مَا قَالُوا ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَرَاءَتَهَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Muhammad bin Ishaq narrates: The Battle of Banu al-Mustaliq took place in the month of Sha'ban in the year 6 AH. In this battle the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) with him; he had cast lots among his wives, and the lot of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) came out. This is the battle during which the people of the false accusation made their accusation, and Allah Almighty sent down a command declaring the innocence of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
