Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) relates: A daughter of mine fell ill, and I prepared nabidh for her in a bowl. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came into the house while that nabidh was bubbling. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is this? I said: My daughter has fallen ill, and I have prepared nabidh for her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has not placed your cure in something unlawful."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it, but he (al-Tabarani) recorded the word "jug" in place of "bowl". The narrators of Abu Ya'la are the narrators of the Sahih, except Hassan bin Mukhariq, and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyidah Umm al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with her) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, Allah Almighty created both disease and remedy, so use remedies! But do not use anything unlawful as a remedy."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Abu Wa'il relates: A man among us fell ill, and something intoxicating was prescribed for him (as medicine). We came to Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about it, and he said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has not placed your cure in what He has made unlawful for you.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
