Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) relates: A daughter of mine fell ill, and I prepared nabidh for her in a bowl. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came into the house while that nabidh was bubbling. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is this? I said: My daughter has fallen ill, and I have prepared nabidh for her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has not placed your cure in something unlawful."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it, but he (al-Tabarani) recorded the word "jug" in place of "bowl". The narrators of Abu Ya'la are the narrators of the Sahih, except Hassan bin Mukhariq, and Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
