Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who performs halalah and the one for whom halalah is performed (that is, both of them).
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Uthman bin Muhammad al-Akhnasi, whom Yahya bin Ma'in and Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Ali bin al-Madini says: Munkar (objectionable) hadiths are reported through him from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hadith Takhrij «
A similar narration is reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), but it contains these additional words: Afterwards that woman came and told him that her husband had touched her (that is, had consummated the marriage with her). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that woman from going back to her first husband, and he said: "O Allah! If his purpose in this is that she becomes lawful for Rifa'ah, then do not let his marriage be completed a second time." After that the woman came to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) during their caliphates, but both of them refused her.
Ahmad recorded it in this way. As for his saying "similar to it", nothing suitable is mentioned before it with which it connects; I do not know on what basis he joined it, and Allah knows best. Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Nafi', the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), states: A man asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), saying: "My maternal uncle has separated from his wife, and now he is grieved and troubled over the matter, and it weighs heavily on him. I have intended to marry that woman (and then divorce her to make her lawful again for my uncle). My uncle did not instruct me to do this, and he does not know about it." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "No! A marriage is only one entered with the intention of keeping it: if she suits you, you keep her, and if you dislike her, you separate. Nothing other than this. In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) we used to count this as fornication."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
