عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ ضَرَبَ مَمْلُوكَهُ ظُلْمًا أُقِيدَ مِنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever beats his slave unjustly, retribution will be exacted from him for it on the Day of Resurrection."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَضْرِبُوا الرَّقِيقَ ، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْرُونَ مَا تُوَافِقُونَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not beat slaves, for you do not know what you may chance upon."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ikrimah bin Khalid bin Salamah, who is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : كَانَتْ جَارِيَةٌ تَرْعَى غَنَمًا لِي ، فَأَكَلَ الذِّئْبُ شَاةً فَضَرَبْتُ وَجْهَ الْجَارِيَةِ فَنَدِمْتُ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا مُؤْمِنَةٌ لَأَعْتَقْتُهَا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لِلْجَارِيَةِ : " مَنْ أَنَا ؟ " . قَالَتْ : أَنْتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : " فَمَنِ اللَّهُ ؟ " . قَالَتْ : الَّذِي فِي السَّمَاءِ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَعْتِقْهَا ، فَإِنَّهَا مُؤْمِنَةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A slave girl used to graze my goats. A wolf ate one of the goats, so I slapped the slave girl on the face. Then I felt remorse, and I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: If I knew that she is a believer, I would free her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the slave girl: Who am I? She replied: You are the Messenger of Allah. He asked: Who is Allah Almighty? She replied: The One who is in the heaven. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Free her! She is a believer.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Shabib, who is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَنْ مَثَّلَ بِعَبْدِهِ أَوْ حَرَّقَهُ بِالنَّارِ فَهُوَ حُرٌّ ، وَهُوَ مَوْلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ " .
قَالَ : فَأَتَى رَجُلٌ قَدْ خُصِيَ يُقَالُ لَهُ : سِنْدَرٌ، فَأَعْتَقَهُ . ثُمَّ أَتَى أَبَا بَكْرٍ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَصَنَعَ إِلَيْهِ خَيْرًا . ثُمَّ أَتَى عُمَرَ بَعْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَصَنَعَ إِلَيْهِ خَيْرًا . ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ إِلَى مِصْرَ فَكَتَبَ لَهُ عُمَرُ إِلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنِ اصْنَعْ إِلَيْهِ خَيْرًا وَاحْفَظْ فِيهِ وَصِيَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ . وَفِيهِ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever mutilates a slave or burns him with fire, that slave is deemed free, and he is deemed the freedman of Allah and His Messenger." The narrator says: Then a man came who had been castrated; his name was "Sindar". The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) freed him. Then, after the passing of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he came to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) treated him well. After Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), he came to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) treated him well. Then he intended to go to Egypt, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him): Treat him well, and safeguard the instruction of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning him.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); its chain contains a narrator, al-Hajjaj bin Artah, who is a mudallis, but he is thiqah (trustworthy).

وَعَنْ سِنْدَرٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ الزِّنْبَاعِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ ، وَأَنَّهُ عَتَبَ عَلَيْهِ فَخَصَاهُ، وَجَدَعَهُ . فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَأَغْلَظَ لِزِنْبَاعٍ الْقَوْلَ وَأَعْتَقَهُ مِنْهُ . فَقَالَ : أَوْصِ بِي . فَقَالَ : " أُوصِي بِكَ كُلَّ مُسْلِمٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سِنْدَرٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Sindar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he was the slave of Zinba' bin Salamah. Zinba' became angry with him, castrated him and cut off his nose and ears. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed severe displeasure with Zinba' and freed him from him. Sindar said: Give an instruction concerning me! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I instruct every Muslim concerning you.
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Sindar, whom I do not know, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
