Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that the goods be met (before they reach the market) until they arrive at the markets, or that a town-dweller sell for a desert-dweller.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir) recorded it. In al-Mu'jam al-Awsat he recorded only that a town-dweller should not sell for desert-dwellers.
Al-Bazzar recorded it like Ahmad.

In one narration these words are additional, and al-Tabarani also recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Do not meet the traders until they reach the market, and do not sell for the bedouins, even if he is the brother of one of you, or his father, or his mother." The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.

One of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The traders are not to be met (outside the market), and a town-dweller shall not sell for a desert-dweller. Whoever buys a musarrah goat or she-camel (here the narrator Shu'bah mentioned only the she-camel once; the narration continues with these words:) then he has a choice between two options regarding that animal once he has milked it (either he keeps it) or, if he wishes, he returns it and returns a sa' of grain along with it." Here the narrator al-Hakam reported these words: perhaps he said that he should return a sa' of dates.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
