Abu al-Sha'tha' narrates: I set out to perform Hajj and entered the House of Allah. When I reached the two pillars, I went forward and pressed myself against the wall. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) came and stood beside me, and he prayed four rak'ahs. The narrator says: When he had finished praying, I asked him: "Where inside the Ka'bah did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray?" He said: "Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) told me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed here." I asked him: "How many rak'ahs did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray?" Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "I always blame myself for this: I remained with Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) for a long time, yet I never asked him how much the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed." The narrator says: The following year I went to perform Hajj. I came and stood at that same spot, and meanwhile Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) came and stood beside me. He kept pushing against me until he moved me from that spot, and then he prayed four rak'ahs there.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded a report with this meaning in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Ibn Abi Mulaykah narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Makkah and entered the Ka'bah. He sent word to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), asking: "Where did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray?" Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "He prayed between the two pillars facing the door." Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) came and knocked hard on the door. The door was opened, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him): "You know that I have knowledge just as he has knowledge, but you envied me."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of the Conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent word to the mother of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him): "Send the key of the Ka'bah to me." That woman said: "By al-Lat and al-Uzza, I will not send it to you." Someone said: "Send someone to her to take it by force." That woman's son Uthman said: "O Messenger of Allah! She has only recently come out of disbelief. Send me to her, and I will come back to you right away." Then he went to the woman and said: "O my mother! Things are no longer the way they used to be. If you do not give me the key, you will be killed." The narrator says: So that woman took out the key and gave it to him. He came running with it, and when he drew near to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he stumbled and the key fell from his hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, threw his cloth over it and took hold of it. Then he came to the door. The narrator says: I think the narration also contains these words: He opened it. Then he stood by the corners of the Ka'bah and supplicated, and then he prayed two rak'ahs between the two pillars.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Zayd bin Awf, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Makkah, I said: "Today I will put on my (new or fine) clothes." My house was on the road. After this the narrator mentioned the full hadith, further on in which are these words: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, I asked a man who was with him: "Where did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray?" He replied: "He prayed two rak'ahs to the right of the middle pillar."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. A hadith is also narrated on this from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he prayed two rak'ahs, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
