Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us at Arafat. After praising and extolling Allah Almighty, he said: "To proceed: the polytheists and idol-worshippers used to depart from this place when the sun was on the tops of the mountains, like the turbans of men. But we will depart after it has set. They used to depart from al-Mash'ar al-Haram when the sun('s light) had spread."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Maysarah al-Ashja'i reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he performed Hajj with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) until he stood at Arafat. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Maysarah! Lean against the mountain." I did so. When the people departed, I too began to set my mount moving, but he said to me: "Wait for now; go at a moderate pace." When I had crossed the mountain, I said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman, will you dismount?" He said: "O Maysarah, keep going." When we set off and came to Muzdalifah, he stood and gave the call to prayer (adhan). Then he called the iqamah for the prayer and offered the Maghrib prayer, then he called the iqamah and offered the Isha prayer. Then, when morning came, he did as he had done at the first Mash'ar. Then he related: The polytheists would not depart from Arafat until the sun came onto the peak of the mountain, and it would be on the top of the mountain just as men's turbans are on their faces, whereas the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not depart until it had set. And the polytheists would not depart from Muzdalifah until they had said that the mountain named Thabir had become bright; they would not depart until the sun was on the mountain just as men's turbans are on their faces, whereas the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would depart before sunrise. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of it is recorded in the Sahih.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ja'far bin Maysarah al-Ashja'i, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the day of Arafah, do not depart until the Imam departs."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, whose hadith is hasan (good), and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid states: We performed Hajj with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator says: When we were standing at Arafah, we asked: "Has the sun set?" Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If the Commander of the Faithful were to depart now, he would be doing the right thing." The narrator says: I do not know whether the word of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was quicker or the departure of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator says: The people urged their mounts to go fast, but Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) kept going at a moderate pace until we came to Muzdalifah. After this, the narrator mentioned the complete report.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: Moving at a fast pace was begun by the Bedouins. They were standing on both sides of the people, and they had hung up sticks, quivers and large bowls. When they set off, those (things) rattled, the animals were startled and a stampede broke out, and the people also set off. Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was seen, and the ear of his she-camel was touching its neck, and he was saying: "O people! Go calmly! O people! Go calmly!"
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from Arafat, and he was saying: "To You (O Allah) she hastens, her saddle-girth loose and shaking; her religion differs from the religion of the Christians."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Asim bin Ubaydullah, who is da'if (weak). Al-Tabarani said: "In my view, the narrator named Abu al-Rabi' al-Samman erred in making this report marfu' (attributing it) to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), because the well-known narration from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) is that he departed from Arafat while saying: 'To You (O Allah) she hastens, her saddle-girth loose and shaking; her religion differs from the religion of the Christians.'"
