Al-Tabarani recorded this narration from him in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. He narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for a cupper whose kunyah was Abu Taybah, and he cupped him after the Asr prayer in the month of Ramadan. The chains of both contain a narrator, al-Rabi' bin Badr, and he is matruk (abandoned).

Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, though he (al-Tabarani) narrated these words: "A concession was granted to the fasting person for kissing and for being cupped." Al-Bazzar's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
