Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: There was a tree that used to cause people harm. A man came to it and removed it from the people's path. Then the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have seen that man turning about in its shade in Paradise.
Imam Ahmad and Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu Hilal, and he is thiqah (trustworthy), though he has been criticised.

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever removes from the road of the Muslims something that causes them harm, Allah Almighty records a good deed for him because of it; and whoever has a good deed recorded for him with Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise because of that good deed."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. In al-Mu'jam al-Kabir its wording is: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever removes from the road of the Muslims something that causes them harm, Allah Almighty records one hundred good deeds for that servant because of it." It has no words beyond this. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam, and he is da'if (weak).

Abu Shaybah al-Mahri narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was walking along and a man was with him. He removed a stone from the road. The man asked: Why is this? Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever removes a stone from the road, a good deed is recorded for him; and whoever has a good deed will enter Paradise."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه الطبراني فى المعجم الكبير (101/20 ، 102)»
Al-Mustanir bin Akhdar bin Mu'awiyah narrates this account from his father: I was passing along a road with Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him). We passed by something harmful, so he removed it and moved it to one side of the road. Then I saw another harmful thing, so I took hold of it and moved it to one side. He took hold of my hand and said: O my nephew! Why did you do that? I said: O my uncle! I saw you doing this, so I did the same. He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever removes something harmful from the road of the Muslims, a good deed is recorded for him; and whoever has a good deed accepted will enter Paradise."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Imam al-Mizzi says: The correct version is that it is from al-Mustanir bin Akhdar bin Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah from his grandfather, as Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it in Kitab al-Adab. If it is as Imam al-Mizzi stated, then its chain is hasan (good), if Allah wills; and if its chain mentions that he narrated it from his father Akhdar, then I have not found anyone who mentions Akhdar. And Allah knows best.
