Sayyidah Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When we die, will we meet one another and see one another?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The soul will be in the form of a bird, hanging from a tree, until when the Day of Resurrection comes, every soul will enter its body."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who has been criticised.

(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: First he (al-Tabarani) mentioned Sayyidah Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her), the sister of Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and mentioned the first hadith under her; then he mentioned the second narration, saying that this woman is from the Ansar, and he also gave a biography of her. The second narration contains Ibn Lahi'ah.

If you meet my father, convey my greetings of salam to him." Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Umm Mubashshir! May Allah Almighty forgive you; where will we get the chance for that?" Sayyidah Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman! Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The souls of the believers will be in the bellies of green birds, hanging from the trees of Paradise'?" Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "Yes, indeed." Sayyidah Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Then that is how it will be."

Sayyiduna Abdur-Rahman bin Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports about Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him): When the time of his death drew near, Sayyidah Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) came to him and said: "Convey my greetings of peace to my son." Sayyiduna Ka'b said to her: "Have you not heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'The soul of the believer is in the form of a bird, and it hangs on the trees of Paradise until it is raised up again on the Day of Resurrection'?" That woman replied: "Yes, but I had forgotten." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This hadith of Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned in the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Paradise is suspended from the horns of the sun; it is spread out once every year. The souls of the believers are in birds like starlings (a bird resembling the myna); they (the souls) recognise one another, and they are given the fruit of Paradise as provision. Khalid bin Ma'dan says: When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise, they will say: "O our Lord! Did You not promise us that You would bring us to the Fire?" The Lord will say: "Yes! But when you passed by it, it had been extinguished."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin Yunus; I have not found anyone who mentions him. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy) and are the narrators of the Sahih.
