The distance at which the prayer is shortened and the duration of shortening

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people of Makkah, do not shorten the prayer on a journey of less than four barids, which is the distance from Makkah to Usfan."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir as a narration of Ibn Mujahid from his father and Ata'. I do not know this person; the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to shorten the prayer at al-Aqiq.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Hamzah al-Zubayri, and I have not found anyone who has given his biography; the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).

Qasim bin Abd al-Rahman narrated that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not shorten the prayer except in Hajj or jihad."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrator named Qasim did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).

Ziyad bin Abi Maryam reported this statement of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): "Do not shorten the prayer when travelling in the areas around you, and do not travel among the villages for your needs and then say: 'We are travellers.' (For) the traveller is one who goes from one end to the other."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrator named Ziyad did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). A narration from him has the words: "Do not be deceived regarding your trade," and after this the narrator reported the narration as before.

Thumamah bin Shurahbil narrated: I came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar and asked: "What is the prayer of the traveller?" He said: "Two rak'ahs each, except for the Maghrib prayer, which is three." I said: "What is your view if we are at Dhu al-Majaz?" He said: "What is Dhu al-Majaz?" I replied: "It is a place where we gather and buy and sell (that is, a fair is held there), and we stay there for twenty days or fifteen days." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar said: "O people, I was in Azerbaijan" (the narrator said: I think he said: "for four months, or perhaps two months"), "and I saw them offering two rak'ahs each, and I saw with my own eyes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offering two rak'ahs." Then he recited this verse: "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah there is an excellent example for you." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadiths narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar in the Sahih and other books are reported without this wording.
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Hasan al-Basri narrated that he stayed with Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) in Nishapur for two years, and during that time Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) kept offering two rak'ahs each.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at Tabuk for twenty days, and during that time he kept offering the shortened prayer.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Uthman al-Kilabi, and he is matruk (abandoned).
