Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When my eyesight became weak, it was said: "We will treat you; leave the prayer for a few days." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "No! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever abandons the prayer, when he comes before Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will be angry with him.'" Al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, recorded it; its chain contains Sahl bin Mahmud, whom Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned, and he said: Ahmad bin Ibrahim al-Dawraqi and Sa'dan bin Yazid narrated from him.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Mukharrimi also narrated from him, and no one has criticised him; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Makhul narrates from Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Do not abandon the prayer deliberately, for whoever abandons the prayer deliberately, the protection of Allah and His Messenger is free of him."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator Makhul did not hear from Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her); and Allah knows best.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever abandons the prayer deliberately has openly committed disbelief."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, except the narrator Muhammad bin Abi Dawud: I have not found anyone who has given his biography. Ibn Hibban mentioned Muhammad bin Abi Dawud al-Baghdadi in al-Thiqat, and I do not know whether this is the same person or not.

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him): "Whoever abandons the prayer deliberately, the protection of Allah Almighty is free of him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain), and he has narrated this with 'an'anah (using "from").

Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) while he had been covered over. I asked: "In what condition have you found him?" The people said: "As you see." I said: "Wake him up for the prayer, for you cannot wake him for anything more important to him than the prayer." The people said: "O Commander of the Believers! It is time for the prayer." He said: "Yes! By Allah! Yes! There is no right in Islam for the one who abandons the prayer." Then he offered the prayer while blood was flowing from his wound.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
